Sports Chiropractic

Welcome to OFF-Season Chiropractic

Our practice specializes in the functional assessment and manual treatment of disorders and injuries to the musculoskeletal (muscles and joints) system with an emphasis on wellness and balance. We utilize a sophisticated kinetic chain approach to evaluation and treatment. This approach considers the function of joints and soft tissues above and below the symptomatic area, as well as its antagonistic muscles. Innovative treatment plans are tailored specifically to the individual needs of our patients, employing the most effective manual procedures and stabilization exercises available today. Our goal is to restore optimal musculoskeletal function as quickly as possible, while educating our patients about self-care and prevention to promote wellness.

We believe that health is centered on living a life full of the activities you want, not merely being free of pain and injury. We recognize that each of us have different goals in life and empower each patient to achieve their goals. Whether your goal is a PR in a Triathlon or being able to play with your children pain free, we strive to make it a reality.

If you suffer from a condition that’s failed to respond to previous treatment or you continue to experience recurrences, maybe it’s time you tried our approach. We’re confident you’ll find our distinction a significant one.

What To Expect

You will need to fill out initial paperwork during your first appointment. You can save time and print these forms at home and bring into your first appointment (Health History, Patient Information). Please take your time and complete the paperwork as this information is important for Dr. Bramble to accurately diagnose your condition and personalize your treatment.

Once the doctor has reviewed your forms, you will discuss your presenting problem and past health with him. After this information is gathered, the doctor will perform an examination on the area of complaint and related structures. This exam may involve some of the tests you are used to in any other doctor’s office, such as blood pressure and reflexes. There are many other manual and orthopedic tests that will be performed to give the doctor further insight into the nature of your problem.

At the end of the exam, the doctor will discuss the findings and talk to you about treatment options and goals of care as well as answer any questions you may have. Depending on the findings, treatment may occur on the first day. This first appointment will likely take about an hour and 15 minutes.

On regular visits, there will be a brief recap of your progress before the treatment starts, so Dr. Bramble can analyze how you are responding to treatment. It is important to bring anything that has changed since the last visit to his attention. Treatment will vary based on the condition, but will likely include chiropractic adjustments to the spine or extremities, myofascial release, Instrument assisted muscle work, stretching, and strengthening exercises. At the end there will be time to discuss things for you to do between visits. A big difference between our approach and other chiropractors is this muscle work. A regular visit will likely take 20-30 minutes.

Chiropractic Adjustments

A chiropractic adjustment is a technique where a chiropractor uses a quick, shallow motion to increase the motion of a specific part of your spine or other joint. Chiropractic adjustments shouldn’t hurt, and can be tailored to fit your concerns. Dr. Bramble has been trained in a myriad of different adjusting techniques, and can adapt the treatments to fit your body. If you find any treatment uncomfortable, speak up… there is always the chance that there will be a more comfortable approach or a modification that can be made.
