Massage Therapy
Welcome to OFF-Season Massage
Massage Therapy is a perfect adjunct to Physical Therapy, Sports Chiropractic and Personal Training offered here at Off-Season. The manual manipulation of soft tissue speeds recovery and healing via: break down of adhesions, releasing trigger points, lengthening muscle fibers, flushing lactic acid/metabolic wastes. The body responds by refueling the tissue(s) with increased blood flow in order to begin the healing process. Massage Therapy can also lower blood pressure, heart rate, reduce anxiety, depression and improve one’s sense of well being.
At OFFSEASON, we provide a wide variety of massage techniques in order to satisfy our client’s needs. Below are some of our most commonly utilized types of Massage Therapy. We offer ½ Hour, Hour and Hour ½ treatment sessions. Contact us and inquire for pricing at (978)688-6181.

Orthopedic Massage- Orthopedic massage combines the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal pains and injuries using hands-on therapeutic techniques where appropriate. This combination of expertise provides for the most effective treatment of soft tissue pain and injury conditions using massage therapy.
Sports Massage- Massage applied to serious athletes for training, injury prevention, rehab, pre and post event strategies. You have to know what you are doing to work with athletes as their life depends on their bodies. Working too deep before an event may leave them weak and unable to compete. They work themselves to exhaustion and do it all over the next day.
Swedish Massage- A collection of techniques designed for relaxation, using massage oils to reduce friction. Many of the therapeutic effects include increased circulation, increased flexibility, removal of lactic acid and toxins, relaxes nervous system, and stimulates the skin. Techniques can be modified to treat injuries and muscular related problems.
Neuromuscular therapy (sometimes referred to as trigger point therapy)- Uses advanced concepts in trigger point therapy to return the body to normal neuromuscular balance. NMT is a thorough program of recovery from acute and chronic pain syndromes which utilizes specific massage therapy, flexibility stretching, and home care to eliminate the causes of most neuromuscular pain patterns. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief will help to bring about balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. NMT enhances the function of joints, muscles and biomechanics (movement) and it releases endorphins, the body’s own natural pain killers. It can be part of a comprehensive program, complementing all other health care modalities. Neuromuscular Therapy examines six physiological factors that may create or intensify pain patterns.
These six factors are: Ischemia, Trigger Points, Nerve Entrapment/Compression, Nutrition and Postural Deviations.
Deep Tissue Massage- Massage applied to the deeper, core layers of the body often using the elbow as well as the usual thumb, finger and fist pressure. Greater awareness is often needed to go into the deeper tissues without hurting the client.
